Get to Know SCCS!

Sound Child Care Solutions (SCCS) was founded in 2006 by Laura McAlister and Diana Bender, two change makers with decades of experience in early childhood education. Despite public and private investments, SCCS founders witnessed independent centers struggle to serve families experiencing financial insecurity.

SCCS is the first early learning shared services consortium in Seattle, WA. Our core work is to alleviate the opportunity gap between children who receive high quality education, and those who don't--primarily families of color and families experiencing financial insecurity.

We operate 10 centers in King County, sharing administrative services in a central office. The central office takes care of HR tasks such as payroll and benefits for SCCS's 140 employees, as well as state and city legal requirements along with other business needs. SCCS works alongside our community, empowering educators to foster connection, collaboration, and mutual growth.

SCCS is one of the largest early learning employers in Seattle and we take pride in innovating and diversifying our programs to suit the needs of the children and families we serve!
