Embracing Anti-Bias Values

Interlaken Preschool Director, Cassie Worley, visited with Embrace Race for a film preview of Reflecting on Anti-Bias Education in Action: The Early Years, and a thoughtful post-preview discussion. Joined by thought practitioners, John Nimmo and Debbie LeeKeenan, Cassie shared personal anecdotes from her perspective as a parent and a respected leader in early learning.

When asked how she creates moments of calm and reflection while talking about danger and bias with her children, Cassie said the following:

"A big part of my reflective practice is the opportunity to share my past experiences with my girls and to help them understand why I have that fear. Even though it's a way to build relationship, it's my reflection for me to think through, where is this fear coming from?"
