On April 9th, the Refugee & Immigrant Family Center (RIFC), Chapter of SCCS, welcomed Seattle Mayor, Bruce Harrell and Councilmember, Rob Saka. RIFC Director, Luz Casio, Southwest Early Learning Bilingual Preschool (SWEL) Director, Karina Rojas Rodriguez, and SCCS Executive Director, Amruta Mane, highlighted the needs and goals of RIFC and SWEL's programs, educators, and families.

In order to advocate for much-needed investments in our sector, SCCS urges more leaders to see first-hand the power of early learning programs in shaping the academic and social-emotional development of young children.

Due to the tireless efforts by SCCS and other providers, Mayor Harrell recently announced his proposal to renew the FEPP Levy for another six years! We thank Mayor Harrell and Councilmember Saka for learning about our important work in the field of early learning, and we look forward to an ongoing partnership.
